JANE’S ADDICTION TO CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF “NOTHING’S SHOCKING” WITH FULL ALBUM PERFORMANCE AT BROOKLYN BOWL LAS VEGAS
Alternative rock pioneers Jane’s Addiction announce they will perform the 11-track monumental album on May 8, 9 and 10 at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS –Jane’s Addiction, widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in alternative rock, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark Nothing’s Shocking album as well as the opening of Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in a 3-night concert event May 8-10 in which the band will perform the entire track listing of their acclaimed first studio album.
Lead singer for Jane’s Addiction Perry Farrell said, "We had a blast performing at our event during the CES show in Las Vegas this month, so we decided that Vegas would be a great spot for a final celebration of our 25th anniversary."
Originally released in 1988, and including tracks like “Mountain Song”, “Ocean Size” and the Grammy-nominated platinum-selling “Jane Says”, Nothing’s Shocking quickly redefined the alternative music genre and was praised by critics and fans alike.
Celebrated for their unique combination of rock, punk and acoustic artistry, Jane's Addiction has sold over seven million records in the United States. The band is also known for spearheading the movement of modern American festival culture by launching and headlining Lollapalooza.
Brooklyn Bowl co-founder Peter Shapiro said, “We are thrilled to bring such an important and groundbreaking band to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. The space and vibe of Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas will allow fans to relive these songs like they are hearing them for the first time.”
The original Brooklyn Bowl has been heralded as "one of the most incredible places on earth," by Rolling Stone Magazine, and was ranked the number one music venue in New York City three years in a row by Zagat.
Tickets for the Jane's Addiction concerts at Brooklyn Bowl will go on sale Saturday, February 1 at 10:00 a.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.brooklynbowl.com.
As part of a final celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the release of Nothing's Shocking that started with the group receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last October, Jane's Addiction have booked a trio of Nothing Shocking shows in conjunction with the opening of the new Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas for May 8-10, 2014.
"We had a blast performing at our event during the CES show this month so we decided that Vegas would be a great spot for a final celebration of our 25th anniversary." said Farrell.
Although as reported earlier this month in Rolling Stone that Jane's is currently on hiatus from recording any new music, the group is not ruling out playing other live shows.
"Jane's is first and foremost always a great live experience. just because we are on break doesn't mean we won't go play a great gig if one comes up." said Farrell.
